2020 XXXV Merlot

Aroma: Our 2020 Old Vine XXXV Merlot (XXXV is how old the vineyards were when these grapes were picked). Earthy and fresh all at the same time, leather, black tea and unlit cigar mingle with cherry jam and mixed berry compote.

Taste: The palate is wonderfully balanced with a lush mouthfeel perfectly in tune with the acidity, making for a tremendous food wine. The mentioned mixed berry compote and earthy hints of cigar are the predominant flavors while the black tea leather and bits of dark blueberries hang on with the long finish.

Food Pairing: Peppercorn crusted steak with a cherry compote and topped with crispy leeks would complement this wine beautifully.
