2020 Merlot

Aroma: Huckleberry jam is the first impression as I first bring the wine to my nose. Ripe plums and blackberries are complimented by a hint of cedar.

Taste: The palate shows a wonderful balance with tannin and acid allowing the fruit and earth notes to express themselves without challenge. In addition to what was encountered on the nose flavors of cassis and tobacco leaves add to the flavor mix of this wine.

Food Pairing: This wine is calling to be paired with a braised meat dish. It is light enough to go well with a hearty Coq au Vin and big enough to also work with braised beef short ribs. Serve either of these over rustic smashed potatoes and you're in for a treat.
