2022 Montepulciano

Aroma: Our introductory vintage of Cave B Montepulciano is truly something special, especially for a first wine from these young vines. There is a brightness of red fruit notes, ripe raspberries, mashed cooked cranberries, and a hint of Italian plum, laced with earthy notes of worn leather and unlit fresh cigar. Visually, the deep ruby color of this wine is simply gorgeous.    

Taste: The palate is light and lean as the nose would suggest, with cranberry taking the forefront on the flavor profile. The flavors of raspberry and plum are accompanied this time with hints of red licorice. Flavors of black English Breakfast tea take the place of the leather and tobacco on the palate.

Food Pairing: There is a lovely food friendly acidity to this wine begging to be paired with a fresh pasta with house made Bolognese sauce.
