2024 Marsanne

Aroma: Of the three white Rhone varieties that we grow, Marsanne is the youngest vineyard, and it has been a great addition to our lineup. My first impression is of candied orange, known as “canditi” in Italy, where it is widely used in making panetone. The candied orange is accompanied by aromas of cantaloupe and golden kiwi fruit, with hints of fresh cut grass adding a lovely accent to the bouquet.

Taste: The palate is like one big fruit salad of flavors with the melon, kiwi and candied citrus harmoniously weaving in and out, flavoring the creamy texture of the wine. On the finish, flavors of golden kiwi hang on long after you have swallowed the wine.

Food Pairing: This wine would be lovely with fresh shrimp, sauteed with garlic butter and lemon thyme and finished with a splash of the wine itself.
