2022 Blanc de Blanc

Aroma: The first impression of this deliciously aromatic sparkling wine is of fresh green apples. Lemon meringue, yeast dough, baked pears, and hints of nutmeg round out the wonderful bouquet.

 

Taste: On the palate, the yeast dough and spice are first to the punch, then the lovely crisp fruit flavors dance harmoniously with effervescence on your taste buds. The finish lingers perfectly with interchanging hints of apple, citrus, and dough.

 

Food Pairing: I really do just love this wine with fresh oysters on the half shell. The Kumamoto, Quilcene, Shigoku, Kushi, and Penn Cove varieties are some favorites!! Top with a little bit of shallot mignonette, and you have a tasty treat. If you have never had sparkling wine with plain sea salt potato chips, I highly recommend it.
