2021 XXXVI Merlot
Aroma: The nose of our Old Vines Merlot initiates with a rich aroma of dried currants, then moves into notes of cherry jam, and fig newtons with spicy hints of nutmeg and a whisper of cardamom.
Taste: The palate is fruit forward at first then moves into spicy and earthy notes with a bit of leather and pipe tobacco adding to the dark fruit flavors encountered on the nose.
Food Pairing: A nice grilled steak topped with blue cheese and sweet caramelized onions would be fantastic with this wine.
